BUILDING A WORKER-CLIMATE MOVEMENT

Our Worker-Climate Project supports trade unionists organising for a just climate transition.

Join the team

Help us connect workers, union members and climate activists in the struggle for a rapid and just energy transition.

We need your skills and experience to:

  • Build more relationships with workers across regions, industries and unions

  • Help us engage trade unionists in dialogue to develop a deeper understanding of how people working in different industries are fighting for a workers’ transition

  • Find and analyse areas where further coordination between activists is needed

  • Host online and in-person events bringing workers together to facilitate collaboration on key tactics, targets and structures

Help us reach across the trade union movement:

  • If you are a worker taking climate action in your workplace, industry or union, fill in our survey (or send it along to anybody you know who is active on this)

  • If your union branch wants to support our work, submit our motion to your branch

  • To get in touch about other forms of collaboration, get in touch: tradeunions@labourgnd.uk

In the build up to our Worker-Climate Conference in October 2022, we conducted in-depth interviews with various workers. Comparing the shared challenges and approaches from those we spoke to, we produced a variety of resources around the conference.
